Principal's Greeting

St. John the Baptist Diocesan High School, a caring place where academics, athletics, culture, and spirit come together. More than simply a school, St. John’s is a community in which all students are equally welcomed, encouraged, respected and nurtured. Opportunities abound at SJB and we take pride in providing today’s young people with the varied learning experiences that will elevate them to academic achievement and personal fulfillment. It is our hope and goal that all who walk through these doors as curious freshmen will graduate as inspired seniors who possess the academic skills, knowledge, compassion, and selflessness that it takes to be a successful member of our global community.

However, as a Catholic educational community, our mission is even greater. We are committed to spiritual, moral, and personal growth, as well. As a Catholic faith community, we encourage young people to build a personal relationship with God. Through daily prayer, monthly school Masses and services, retreats and individual counseling and guidance, students are challenged to see their lives as gifts from God and live lives of service for others.

Because all young people are individuals with unique needs and abilities, SJB offers a wide selection of programs that provide avenues for many interests. What you’ll find is a well-balanced curriculum taught in a welcoming environment that instills honesty, integrity, and responsibility. We prepare students to continue their studies in college and identify and pursue their career interests. Our alumni and parents are encouraged to be active and involved members of our school community and share in the life, support, and mission of SJB!

It is our hope and prayer that each student who joins the St. John the Baptist Diocesan High School family becomes more than part of a college preparatory high school – they become part of a community that is committed to formation. Ours is a community that allows young ladies and gentlemen to discover who they are and who they are called to become…..their best selves!

Sincerely,

Nan Doherty
